President of Belarus to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan
On September 12-14, 2018, the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the upcoming meetings and negotiations at the highest level, it is planned to discuss a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda, identify key areas for strengthening and developing political dialogue, mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, investment, scientific, educational, cultural, humanitarian and other areas for the long term perspective.
Presidents of Uzbekistan and Belarus will also exchange views on current regional and international issues.
Within the framework of the visit, an exhibition of national products "Made in Belarus", as well as a joint forum of business and interregional cooperation with participation of business circles and regional leaders of the two countries will be held in Tashkent.
Following the Uzbekistan – Belarus summit, it is planned to sign a Joint statement of the heads of states, a number of interstate, intergovernmental, interdepartmental agreements and other documents providing for giving new dynamics to friendly, multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus.

In Uzbekistan, the new “Orzu” small industrial zone has started operating
It is planned to implement in this area 22 projects totaling more than 142 billion soums (currency rates of CB RU from 11.09.2018, 1$= 7862.171 soums)in such sectors as light industry, production of foods, printing products, medical equipment, polyethylene bags and films, energy saving lamps.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his trip to Namangan region this May got acquainted with the projects being realized in this small industrial zone, gave due instructions on their timely and high-quality implementation.
Over the past time, within the framework of the execution of these directives, special attention was paid to the allocation of land to business entities, the formation of road infrastructure, electricity and water supply systems, and the allocation of loans. As a result of work to create the necessary conditions for setting up industrial production, 10 enterprises were put into operation on the territory of the zone.
“In the small industrial zone, organized on the initiative of the President of our country, we have opened one more enterprise for the production of garments,” said the head of the Istiqlol Design Markazi B. Umarov. “Our trouser suits, produced under the brand name Ideal, are in high demand not only in our nation, but also in the foreign market. Setting up such zones is a good opportunity for entrepreneurs, and it is important to use this rationally.”
In an area of more than one and a half hectares, Orzu Ideal Tekstil has implemented a project worth 24 billion soums. At this enterprise, a production capacity of 250,000 pieces of clothing per year and an expected volume of exports of $ 2 million, 500 jobs have been created. In the next stage of the project, 250 more people will be provided with work.
In addition, as a good gift to the celebration of national independence, about a thousand jobs have been created in the Orzu industrial zone in such enterprises as Porloq Tekstil Liboslari, Nurobod Sifat Tekstil, Ulug-B, White Gold Towel Textile, Kvars Sanoat Servis, Bosir Tekstil Servis, Sugdiyona Fayz Tekstil, Universal Food Trade, Mega Eco Plast.
Following the full implementation of all the projects, the annual capacity of production in the small industrial zone will exceed 82 billion soums, while about 4 thousand people will be provided with employment. The bulk of the products will be exported.
In the future, three more small industrial zones, Yuksalish, Pakhtalikul, Khonobod, are expected to be organized in Namangan. This will create in excess of 12,000 new jobs.

Sughd region hosted Samarkand Days
As previously reported, on September 7-9, the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted Samarkand Days.
The delegation led by the acting khokim of Samarkand region E.Turdimov, including officials, businessmen, representatives of large industrial enterprises, cultural and art workers, sportsmen of the region, was solemnly welcomed by the leadership and public of Sughd region.
At the business forum of the two regions and the exhibition of products of industrial enterprises, businessmen and craftsmen of Samarkand region, leaders of the two regions noted that they support cooperation of business people and will create ample opportunities for this.
Samarkand entrepreneurs got acquainted with activities of Sughd Free Economic Zone. More than 20 enterprises have established production of various products here.
The guests took part in festive events in connection with the 27th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, held in Khujand. Acting khokim of Samarkand region E.Turdimov congratulated the residents of Sughd region on the holiday.
A concert was held with participation of artists from the two regions. The football teams “Dinamo” of Samarkand and “Khujand” of Khujand held a friendly match.
U.S. delegation to visit Uzbekistan
On September 12, 2018, a delegation of the U.S. Department of State led by the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs Brian McFeeters will arrive in Uzbekistan.
The program of the visit includes meetings at the Cabinet of Ministers, the ministries of foreign affairs, foreign trade, economy, development of information technologies and communications, during which it is planned to discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.

Leading world experts in nuclear physics will gather in Uzbekistan
On September 12-15, Uzbekistan will host the 20th Annual RDMS CMS Collaboration Conference “Physics at the Large Hadron Collider”.
The organizers of the event are the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the country, Samarkand State University, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia) and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Switzerland).
According to the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the conference will be attended by more than 60 scientists from 9 countries, including physicists from the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, India, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus and more than 30 Uzbekistan’s specialists in nuclear physics and elementary particle physics from scientific research institutes and universities of Uzbekistan. The conference will be held in two cities – Tashkent and Samarkand.
A number of important issues facing contemporary nuclear physics and elementary particle physics will be considered at the conference. In particular, the results and short-term prospects of research in physics at the Large Hadron Collider, prospects for research in physics at the modernized Large Hadron Collider, modernization and detection of Phase II CMS in the long term prospects will be studied.
International Business Forum in Bukhara
Agro Business Bukhara International Business Forum kicks off in Bukhara.
Representatives of more than 120 companies from 18 countries, such as Russia, China, Turkey, South Korea, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, India, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Germany, heads of more than 200 economic entities from all the regions of the country are attending the forum.
Within the framework of the forum, an exhibition of food products is being held, where every district and city, large enterprises of the region organized their own pavilion. Negotiations on conclusion of cooperation agreements were held.
As a result of the first day of the forum, a briefing was held. It was noted that more than 180 investors were offered investment projects worth more than $1 billion and contracts worth $350 million were concluded.
The International Business Forum will continue its work on September 11. Investors will visit places where they will become acquainted with opportunities for projects implementation.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Z.Mirzayev, khokim of Bukhara region U.Barnoyev delivered a speech.

Maqom melodies, its spirit and philosophy took a special place in the hearts
International Forum of Maqom Art in Shakhrisabz has come to an end.
This international art festival was organized in order to develop and bring to the future generations the national maqom art, which is an integral part of the cultural heritage of mankind and its ancient history, deep philosophical roots, unique performing style and rich creative traditions. It has an important place in the spiritual life.
Within the framework of the International Forum, on September 7, Afrosiyob high-speed train started to run on Tashkent – Shakhrisabz – Tashkent route.
About 300 solo artists and musical groups from 73 countries took part in the forum, 30 scientists and musicologists from 19 countries attended the international scientific practical conference, held within the framework of the forum.
On September 10, the awarding ceremony of winners of the International Forum of Maqom Art took place in Oqsaroy Square.
The international jury evaluated the participants’ performances in three nominations: “Best maqom ensemble”, “Best instrumental solo” and “Best vocal solo”.
The third place went to the teams of “Al Gharbi Twins” of Tunisia, “SPCP Japan” of Japan and Sukhonberdi Orazberdiyev from Turkmenistan. The second place was taken by “Nastar” ensemble of Iran and Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan from India.
A soloist of “Hayrati” collective of Azerbaijan Nigor Shabanova and “Sakil” ensemble of Uzbekistan were awarded the first place.
The Grand Prix of the International Forum of Maqom Art was awarded to Tajikistan Maqom Academy.
Winners were awarded cash prizes, special forum diplomas and memorable gifts, and all the foreign guests who participated in the forum – souvenirs and special certificates.
At the ceremony, a concert with participation of art masters and young performers of Uzbekistan was presented, a music and light 3D show was held.
Personal exhibition of Kazakhstan’s artist
Personal exhibition of Kazakhstan’s artist Batukhan Baimen, which presents about 150 creative works, has been opened at the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
Artist’s works take a worthy place in art galleries of many countries of the world. B.Baimen’s works display the poetry of Abay, transferred to canvases. In his works, you can see bondless Kazakh steppe, hospitable Kazakh people’s life.
Such works, as “Day lasts longer than a century”, “Raymali-aga”, “Migrating birds”, “Hunting”, “Nomads”, “My experiences”, “Restless dream”, “Talk about happiness”, “Paper plane”, “Blue lake” have a deep philosophical meaning.
The exhibition will last until September 27.
